Nice
What is Nice about Nice?
Like all the cities in the French Riviera Nice has its own distinctive beauty and lots to offer to its tourists and residents. There are certainly more things to do in Nice than what we were able to explore, but our time there was limited and our main goal was to enjoy the beach and the clean Mediterranean water.
Historically, Nice shares a profound connection with Italy, having been a part of Italy 150 years ago. This historical influence is still noticeable throughout the city, evident in its restaurants, museums, and architectural elements. During the peak tourist season, the ambiance in Nice becomes distinctly international, with a multitude of languages spoken. I am from the Republic of Moldova and I was pleasantly surprised to discover a significant Moldovan community residing in Nice. Unfortunately Moldova is a poor country and poverty is the reason why so many Moldovans choose to emigrate. I can understand why they chose Nice.
So! What to do in Nice and why is it a good destination for a Summer Vacation?

The Ambiance
Strolling through the Old Town, exploring various boutique shops, and dining in Italian-inspired restaurants provide an exceptional experience. Everyone around is on vacation, everyone wants to have a good time and everyone is relaxed. Take an evening walk along the Mediterranean coast of Nice called “Promenade des Anglais” you won’t regret it!

Visit Colline du Château
Located right in the heart of Nice, Colline du Château was a military citadel. Today however it is a Park, a popular tourist attraction with accessible parking facilities, a children’s playground, and a convenient kiosk offering refreshments. Built at the top of the hill it reveals a beautiful overlook over the bay and the city of Nice. The also park has a man-made waterfall that was built in the 18th century. The waterfall cascades down a short cliff and you can walk up to the base to feel the cool spray.

The Beach
the beach in Nice is covered with medium sized pebbles, though somebody may like it, I prefer sand beaches as they are much more comfortable. On the bright side the water was clean and clear also in august it is the perfect temperature!
In conclusion, Nice has a lot more to offer than what we’ve done, things like museums, art galleries, events and other. I believe that anyone would have a good time there, regardless of their preferences because Nice is “nice” 😉
